Wordless Wednesday

The First time I got to see my angel after he was born. It was 10:30 p.m. on September 18, 2006. He knew I was Mommy even though I'd never held him in my arms.

The Mommyhood of the Traveling Shirt

So I belong to this amazing group of ladies on I wish I had gotten to know them all through out my pregnancy with Jaxon but the little bugger was supposed to be born on Halloween 06 but was in all actuality born September 18, 2006. So I've joined the September 06 Baby Birthday Club. This wonderful little genius mommy, by the name of Sarah, came up with the idea to send a shirt around to all the babies in the group and have them take pictures with it. She designed the shirt herself.

It is made of extremely good quality material and there are actually two shirts, for those mommies that have twins. The shirt says "The Mommyhood of the Traveling Shirt Babycenter September 2006 Birthclub." The shirts come with a journal and a set of instructions. You may do whatever you wish with the shirt but you must document where the shirt goes and does with you in the journal. So I was notified at the end of May that I would be getting the shirt next. So far the shirts were supposed to go from Gaffney, SC to two different mommies from Arizona, to me here in Utah. So two weeks go by and I still haven't recieved the shirts because they decided to go on vacation! In NEW MEXICO! ;) The last mommy that had them had her mil mail them out. Well, MIL does some business on ebay and sent several things out that day. The shirts ended up going to a gentlemen in New Mexico who was expecting a steering wheel! I'm sure he was pretty confused when he opened up the package and there was no steering and there definitely was no wheel! Hehe! So he was kind enough to shop them back her and she shipped them on to me. I recieved them on June 15, 2006. We were going to the Change of Command Ceremony for our squadron like right after I opened them so I grabbed one of the shirts and out we went. I couldn't take pictures there during the ceremony but I got to take several after and they turned out pretty darn cute!

So then my little Jaxon started cutting his first tooth and got a cold all at the same time so pictures were held off for a few days so that I could get him better. But once he was better we went out to Antelope Island (unfortunately we went when they were closed but we still got a few shots.)

Antelope Island where the Great Salt Lake is!

My boys posing for me with the shirt!

close up of Jaxon and the shirt on Antelope Island! You can't see it really but way in teh background is the salt lake!

So then we went back to Hill Air Force Base and snapped some pictures there.

In front of the Missiles at the base!

In front of the mountains in Utah!

Then we went home and shot a few at home!

Looking cute on the couch!

Jumping in my jumperoo!

Sitting in my new high chair! He's buckeld in the shirt is covering it I swear!

Playing with my feet on my changing table!

And after that full day with the shirt we had to take a nap with my turtle!

And finally saying goodbye to the shirt before it's off on it's new travels, a picture with Mommy!

So that's the story of the traveling shirt so far. I hope you've enjoyed reading about our adventure!

Jaxon's surgery

Ok so I haven't blogged on this site in AGES, but I decided that if I'm going to read blogs here I might as well write them too. They probably won't be dazzling but they might give you some insight into my life. Speaking of my baby had surgery today! It was nerve wracking to say the least but we made it through. When we first got to the hospital we went to the same day surgery unit and we gave our name! They gave us niftly little name tags with Jaxon's name on it and a pink bracelet with his info on it for me. Then after filling out and signing a mountain of forms, we were told to sit in the waiting area until triage called us! I had to take pictures so here you are!

Once triage called us back, the nurse took his weight and blood pressure, temperature, head circumfrence, and listened to his lungs. Then she handed me these adorable baby hospital gown and pants and asked me to change him into them!

Then a nurse practitioner came in and gave him a good once over to make sure he was able to have the surgery. Then she walked us to the pre-op waiting area. There I got to sit in a rocking chair and rock my baby! I was in HEAVEN! I love cuddling with my little angel. So that is where the NP that was going to be with him during the surgery came to talk with us, as well as the urologist and the anesthesiologist. At about 8:30 they came and walked us to the big double doors where the OR's are and I had to hand my angel over to them. It was the hardest thing I've had to do in a very long time. Ian and I walked down and grabbed breakfast, took it up to the waiting area and ate. About 25-30 minutes later, the Dr. came in and told us the procedure went very well. As soon as he left us, the receptionist called for one parent of Jaxon's to come into recovery with him. I didn't hesitate! When I got there they had just given him some medication and he wasn't happy. I talked to him calmed him down and he drifted off. Then I snapped this picture!

He was hanging on to the blow by at this point! After a few minutes and he woke up again they let me hold him until it was time to move him to post-op. When we got to post-op, he had some heart accelerations and O2 desats but we got him fed and some more O2 and he started perking up. Here is a picture of us in post-op before we left... When we left he finally fell asleep in the car. He has slept most of the day today. But he's been extra cuddly when he's been awake. A plus for Mommy!!!!
