Weekend Reflection #2

So my week was super busy! We had to take Brennan to Vacation Bible School and swim lessons everday this week. I did more housework and took Jaxon to his wellbaby. Ian's fuel pump went out on his truck last week so I've been chaufering him to and from both jobs everyday. I did get to go down to Sandy to my friend Heidi's house to scrapbook. I stayed the night down there so I didnt have to drive the long drive back to the base in the middle of the night. It was the first time I ever left Jaxon since he was in the hospital. It went fine. Ian did a great job in my absence. Here are some of the layouts I got done on Friday night.

Anyway, so tonight I was cooking dinner and I made a HUGE mistake. I was frying pork chops, had potatoes boiling, had corn on the stove. I turned the burner (we have a gas stove!) for the corn on and went back to doing something else. Well all of a sudden I smell plastic burning and I turn and see that I turned the wrong burner on. I had made rice krispy treats yesterday and had put them on the back burner on the stove and my cake pan was now on fire and melting. Well I grabbed the end that wasn't on fire with my left hand and not thinking put the right hand on the other end. Needless to say I dropped the cake pan back down because I'd just burnt the crap out of my hand. It was AWFUL. Ian had taken the car with Jaxon's car seat in it to walmart because he needed a tool for his gas tank. He left his cell at home. I didn't know what to do so I ran across the street to my friends Kim and Glen. Glen turned the water hose on and ran it over my hand while Kim got the aloe. Glen came over and got my kids and Kim took me to the ER. They cleaned it, bandaged it, gave me pain meds, and a tetnas shot and sent me home. I have second degree burns on my two fingers. It hurts like a bitch!!!! While I was gone Ian came home, got the kids, and finished dinner. It turned out delicious. Way to go honey!!! Here are the before and after pics of my hand. Enjoy!

OK so I am happily scrolling along looking at all of your FAB scrap pages and then *BOOM* pain!!!!

I won't lie I scroll before I read and was trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with your fingers. Reading your story caused me so much empathic pain!!

Mental hugs and squishes for you!!! And smooches to our Kim for taking care of you!

Oh no! I hope you hand heals quickly! Your layouts look wonderful, but you may have to wait to do more of those until your hand is better!

Two words- Burn Free. It is this amazing product that aids the release of the heat and quickens healing. I keep it on hand for burns, sunburns, scalding burns, etc. It's easiest found at an emergency preparedness store.

If you can't find it contact me through the good mail blog that Tori set up. I'll get you some.

Your hand looks so painful. I am so sorry that the dumb stove can't read your mind- the other burner dang it!

Seriously now, let me know if you can't find it.
